Warner Bros. Japan has officially greenlit a fourth season for the Record of Ragnarok anime series. The announcement was accompanied by a special promotional video and a commemorative illustration from the manga's artist, Ajichika.
The first season of the anime, produced by Graphinica, premiered on Netflix in June 2021 with 12 episodes. It was followed by a second season in January 2023 and a third season in December 2025, both of which streamed on Netflix and featured co-production from Graphinica and Yumeta Company, with the third season also involving Maru Animation.
Record of Ragnarok adapts the dark fantasy battle manga of the same name, which began serialization in Monthly Comic Zenon in November 2017. The manga boasts a cumulative 18 million copies in print, with its 27th volume released in March and the 28th volume slated for July. VIZ Media handles the English license for the manga, having released the 18th volume in April and planning the 19th for July.
The series, which has garnered a 7.49 score on MyAnimeList from nearly 100,000 voters, pits legendary figures from mythology and history against each other in a tournament to decide humanity's fate. The anime's previous seasons are available to stream on Netflix.
